The work was extensive with the interior of the house being deconstructed to the studs. New electrical, plumbing, heating, drywall as well as window and doors with changes in the sizes were all completed. Throughout this project Chris was knowledgeable, patient, and flexible. He managed the subcontracted work, offered valuable ideas and suggestions, and completed much of the framing and miscellaneous work himself. I hired Chris Hoover to be the contractor and finish carpenter for renovation of the Valentine House. It was a pleasure working with him on the upgrade of the structure, systems and details of this unique historic residence.

Chris is a very conscientious and trustworthy person who I trusted entirely to manage the project. The house was in a very dilapidated state and in need of a full a upgrade, from structural work to fine details. Chris oversaw the selection of subcontractors and managed their projects in a very efficient manner.

It was also a great asset that he could do the unique finish carpentry work that matched the original details. I wanted to use as many green materials and processes as possible in the renovation, and with Chris’s interest and knowledge about green building he was great person to partner with to find energy saving solutions.

We are very satisfied with Chris’s work. We hired Chris to replace our kitchen cabinet doors and drawers, and modify the cabinets for large drawers in place of some of the doors. He designed and built a curio cabinet that attached to the back of the upper cabinet facing our living room.
